According to a Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) media report, officers responded to a hit and run in a residential area in the east end of St. John’s shortly before 9:30 p.m. Friday night.

Police said the victim of the hit and run followed the person responsible and helped police locate the vehicle in Torbay.

According to the report, a 37-year-old male driver was taken to RNC headquarters where he failed the breathalyzer.

The man is charged with failing the breathalyzer, impaired driving and leaving the scene of an accident.
