The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary responded to an armed robbery at Marie’s Mini Mart on Hamlyn Road at about 9:30 p.m. Thursday night.
Multiple police vehicles were reported to be on scene and patrolling local streets looking for suspects but no information was available as to a description or the number of people involved.
Officers with the forensic identification service could be seen inside the store just before 11 p.m. taking photographs and looking for evidence.
