Royal Newfoundland and Labrador Constabulary officers were quick to the scene, but not fast enough to nab an armed robber overnight in downtown St. John’s.
The RNC says at about 4 a.m. Saturday, a lone male entered the business and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The weapon used was not specified, but the suspect is described as wearing a surgical mask, dark clothing and jeans.
It is believed he fled the scene in a white sedan.
No injuries were reported.
