BAY ROBERTS, N.L. — A Bay Roberts man was arrested for impaired driving Tuesday night after local police reportedly discovered he was highly intoxicated while behind the wheel.

Late in the evening on April 23, 2019, officers from Bay Roberts RCMP stopped a vehicle in Shearstown for suspicion of impaired driving.

The 30-year-old male driver from Bay Roberts was found to be highly intoxicated and was arrested. The man provided breath samples to the RCMP which revealed he was three times the legal limit.

The man's licence was suspended and his vehicle impounded. He was released from custody and will appear in Harbour Grace Provincial Court at a later date.
