HOLYROOD, N.L. — A young man from Bay Roberts was ticketed Thursday, accused of exceeding the posted speed limit on the Trans-Canada Highway by quite a bit.
At approximately 10:25 a.m. on July 25, RCMP traffic services observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed near Butterpot Park in the eastbound lane of the Trans-Canada Highway.
According to a news release, a radar revealed the driver was travelling 152 km/h in a 100 km/h zone. Roads were wet at the time.
A 21-year-old man from Bay Roberts was issued a speeding ticket under the Highway Traffic Act. His licence was suspended for seven days and his vehicle was impounded for three days.
