BAY ROBERTS, N.L. — A suspected impaired driver was taken off the road in Bay Roberts Wednesday afternoon, March 20, thanks to a tip from the public.
According to a news release issued Thursday, the complaint from the public was about the driver of a pickup truck. Police located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The suspect, a 55-year-old man from South River, was arrested for impaired driving and brought back to the Bay Roberts detachment to provide a breath sample.
The accused’s vehicle was impounded for 30 days and his licence to drive suspended. He’s been released from custody and will appear in court at a later date.
