BAY ROBERTS, N.L. — Five malnourished dogs were seized from a home in Clarke’s Beach over the weekend and police expect charges will be laid.

According to a news release, RCMP officers went to the home on Saturday, April 27, with the Baccalieu Trail SPCA. Police executed a search warrant and seized five dogs, one of which was pregnant. Police said the dogs were severely malnourished.

The SPCA transported the animals to the Baccalieu Trail Animal Hospital for immediate medical care and they are providing continued care at this time.

Harbour Grace RCMP General Investigation Section assisted Bay Roberts RCMP with the ongoing investigation.
