ST. JOHN'S, N.L. — Boulder Books has won the best Atlantic published book award for “Saltwater Mittens” by Christine LeGrow and Shirley Anne Scott.

Publisher, Gavin Will described the “Saltwater Mittens” authors as funny, incredibly talented, and dedicated to promoting the culture of Newfoundland and Labrador.

“This book has been tremendously successful and is proof of the value people place on cultural authenticity,” publisher Gavin Will said in a news release.

“It is also important that we chronicle the work that women do. Crafts such as knitting have not always been taken seriously - primarily because it is carried out by women at home.”

The Atlantic Publishers Marketing Associations award for Best Atlantic Published Book award celebrates the printed book which best exemplifies publishing activity in Atlantic Canada.
