Bucket stolen from backhoe in St. Lawrence

ST. LAWRENCE, NL – A Burin Peninsula businessman is offering a reward for information about the theft of the digging bucket from a backhoe.

According to a post on his Facebook page, Mike Mallay, owner of Mallay’s Industrial Services Ltd. in Marystown, says his employees were unable to find the backhoe when they went to work in St. Lawrence this morning, May 24.

Mallay indicated, sometime overnight, the backhoe was stolen and driven into a wooded area where it was abandoned. The bucket was removed and taken, Mallay said.
