Burin Peninsula RCMP are investigating a break and enter at the Garnish town hall last week.
A suspect, wearing black clothing, a face mask and white footwear, forced entry into the building, according to a news release from police.
Video surveillance captured the suspect entering the location at about 3:20 a.m. Oct. 21.
A safe containing a large sum of cash was removed from the property and was taken by the culprit or culprits.
The RCMP are asking Garnish and Frenchman’s Cove residents who have surveillance systems to please check their footage between the hours of midnight and 4 a.m. on that day for any suspicious activity that may assist police with solving this crime.
