The Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board (C-NLOPB) released a brief incident disclosure Monday afternoon in relation to the fire on the Terra Nova FPSO on Saturday.
The disclosure says that early on May 30, Suncor Energy reported a fire coming from the low pressure separator on the Terra Nova.
“All personnel safely mustered and the Emergency Response Fire Team was immediately deployed to respond. The Fire Team was able to extinguish the fire utilizing water and firefighting foam,” reads the disclosure.
It goes on to say there were no injuries, all personnel were accounted for, the scene was secured and on-site monitoring continues.
The C-NLOPB release said there is no gas or crude held onboard the vessel which is shut down for maintenance and not producing at this time. The board said it’s monitoring Suncor’s investigation of the incident.
