With the Fund the Future banner dropped from a third-floor window in the background, three of the students from College of the North Atlantic in Stephenville, listen in as Lenny Tiller, president of the College of the Norther Atlantic Bay St. George Student Representative Council, addresses the 25 supporters on hand, including from left: Mary Burt, Morgan Legge and Sarah Leonard.
They joined fellow students from around the province for a Provincial Day of Action to call on the provincial government to restore funding to post-secondary education.
Students want the reinstatement of the needs-based grants program; restoring funding to the College of the North Atlantic and Memorial University and progressively reducing tuition fees to the point of elimination. The demonstration was organized by Canadian Federation of Students – NL.
