Two cars were extensively damaged Tuesday evening after one of the vehicles collided with a parked car on Newfoundland Drive in St. John’s.

The driver of the car then apparently fled the scene on foot.

The incident happened just after 8:30 p.m. in the westbound lane of Newfoundland Drive just west of Torbay Road.

It was unknown if the fleeing driver was injured.

Earlier in the evening, a woman was taken to hospital following a two-vehicle collision on Elizabeth Drive in Paradise.

It appears the collision occurred when one of the vehicles was making a left-hand turn into a fast-food restaurant parking lot.

The injuries did not appear serious.
