ST. JOHN'S, N.L. — The female driver of a car was sent to hospital after her vehicle cracked off a concrete light pole on the Prince Philip Parkway Friday night.
The collision happened near the College of the North Atlantic as the car was travelling eastbound, sending the damaged light pole crashing onto the busy roadway and leaving pieces of concrete strewn across the area. Traffic was slowed in both directions as the scene was cleared.
The injuries were not considered serious and the car sustained extensive damage.
