Another utility pole fell victim to a vehicle collision just before 1 a.m. Wednesday morning when a car cracked it off on Topsail Road.

Firefighters didn’t have far to travel to reach the collision scene as the incident happened about a hundred metres west of the Brookfield fire station. When they arrived on scene, the male driver was already out of the wrecked car and talking to bystanders.

The impact from the crash tore one of the wheels from the car and sent it rolling into a yard across the street, leaving the car with extensive damage.

The driver, who appeared to have only minor injuries, was checked on scene by Eastern Health paramedics.

The RNC is investigating.
