One man escaped serious injury Sunday afternoon when the car he was driving left the road and went over a four-metre embankment into a water filled ditch.
The incident happened in the eastbound lane of the Trans-Canada highway at Paddy’s Pond at about 5:30 p.m. and left the car with extensive damage.
The driver appeared to have a minor head injury but he was able to walk to an ambulance where he was checked by paramedics.
Traffic was slowed through the area and briefly stopped so a tow-truck could remove the wrecked car.
