Carbonear motorcyclist dies after colliding with moose on Veteran's Memorial Highway

BAY ROBERTS, N.L. — A 46-year-old man from Carbonear died on the Veterans Memorial Highway Tuesday night after his motorcycle struck a moose that had wandered onto the roadway.

The collision occurred in the southbound lane of the highway between Roaches Line and Makinson. The road was closed for a period of time. 

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police say the driver was already deceased when they arrived on the scene.
