The CeeBee Stars won the senior hockey championship this afternoon over the Clarenville Ford Caribous 4-3 in a hard-fought and exciting Game 5 of the best-of-five series.

The final and game-winning goal by CeeBees’ forward Kenny King at 15:59 of the third period sent Caribous’ goalie Justin Churchill into a rage after he claimed the puck had slipped in under the side of the net.

Churchill pushed the net off its posts and argued with the referees. Other team members and Caribous’ coach Rebecca Russell were outraged as well.

The CeeBees held on to the lead to win the game at the Eastlink Events Centre in Clarenville.
