Tianna Dawe, a Grade 6 student at Holy Family Elementary in Paradise, started her day on Tuesday by being picked up at her home and driven to her school in a fire truck. There, she and fire inspector Gary Power spoke to her schoolmates about fire prevention and safety tips. Then it was off to tour some of the SJRFD stations around the metro region, followed by meetings with the mayors of St. John’s, Mount Pearl and Paradise, with a working lunch at McDonald’s on Topsail Road in between.
