HAPPY VALLEY-GOOSE BAY, NL – The Combined Councils of Labrador's (CCL) 46th annual general meeting is underway in Happy Valley-Goose Bay.
The event started on Wednesday, Feb. 7 and concludes on Saturday.
Several government officials are on hand for the event today and tomorrow, including Children, Seniors and Social Development Minister Lisa Dempster and Health and Community Services Minister John Haggie.
As well, MHAs Graham Letto and Randy Edmunds, the parliamentary secretaries for Natural Resources and Indigenous Affairs, respectively, are in attendance.
Haggie is speaking during the luncheon today, while Dempster will address the AGM this afternoon. Letto is giving the keynote address at the banquet tonight. Edmunds will speak during the event Saturday morning.
Provincial Transportation and Works Minister Steve Crocker spoke at the luncheon on Thursday. Labrador MP Yvonne Jones addressed the gathering yesterday as well.
The CCL represents the interests of each municipality in the region.
