Six public consultations to help inform the drafting of new emergency health services and community paramedicine legislation will be held across the province next week.
In a release announcing details of the consultations, Health and Community Services Minister John Haggie said keeping the integrity of ambulance services in Newfoundland and Labrador is a top priority.
“I am pleased to begin this consultation process so that we may hear from the public about what is important to them,” he said.
“As recommended by Fitch and Associates, this new legislation will help us achieve a modern and reliable road ambulance system, and help ensure the system establishes consistent standards and oversight.”

The deadline for submissions is Friday, Sept. 28.
