A 48-year-old Corner Brook charged with assault with a weapon was released from custody following a court appearance on Tuesday.
Robert Thomas Greening, 48, was arrested following an incident in the Broadway area on Monday.
At 4:05 p.m., Royal Newfoundland Constabulary officers responded to a report that someone had been threatened and assaulted with a weapon.
It was reported that a man had emerged from a home and approached the complainant with an edged weapon and threatened to cause harm to him.
Greening was also charged with uttering threats and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
He is scheduled to appear in provincial court in Corner Brook on March 20.
