For many, tax season can be a daunting time.

The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) has a free program to help people with modest incomes and a simple tax situation, however.

Over 310 people volunteered with the CRA’s Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) in Newfoundland and Labrador last year, helping some 8,300 people file their returns.

The CRA is once again on the hunt for volunteers in the province.

More information about the CVITP is available at canada.ca/taxes-volunteer or by calling 1-855-516-4405.
