A female biker was taken to hospital after she lost control of her bike in Paradise Thursday night.

In its overnight report this morning (Friday), the RNC said the driver who struck the bike had left the scene, but police found  the 76-year-old man at his home.

After a breathalyzer test, he was given a seven-day suspension and his driver’s licence was seized.

A number of summary offence tickets were also issued under the Highway Traffic Act for failing to provide his name and proof of insurance at the accident scene.

Police say the driver of the bicycle was treated at hospital for minor injuries.

In another incident in Paradise a female biker was taken to hospital after she apparently lost control of her motorcycle and was thrown from the machine on Topsail Road near the Kenmount Road overpass. The injuries were not considered serious.
