Cyclist killed in TCH crash

A 54-year-old man is dead following a collision on the Trans-Canada Highway near Holyrood, Friday afternoon.

The man was struck and killed after the custom bicycle he was riding was struck by an SUV around 4 p.m. Friday. The crash occurred in the westbound lane of the TCH just past the Holyrood Access. Members of the Holyrood Volunteer Fire department and members of the Holyrood RCMP detachment responded. Traffic was blocked and diverted for several hours as emergency personnel secured the scene and began their investigation. The victim’s next of kin have been notified but his name has not been released. No other information on the incident has been released
