The driver of an SUV was nowhere to be found early Friday morning when the vehicle the person was driving flipped onto its roof after slamming into a parked car.

The crash happened just before 3 a.m. on Gil Eannes Drive in St. John’s. The impact drove the parked car about eight metres from its original location and left it with extensive damage to its back end. One of the wheels from the SUV was torn from the vehicle and it was sitting on the street near the crash scene.

Several Royal Newfoundland Constabulary patrol vehicles were spotted driving around neighbouring streets following the incident.
