St. John’s, N.L. —Delinquent or intoxicated drivers continue to keep RNC patrols busy on their rounds.

On Friday afternoon about 4:30 the RNC stopped a vehicle in the west end of St. John’s. The 31-year-old male driver was arrested for suspended licence, failure to transfer ownership and no insurance on vehicle. He also owed nore than $10,000 in fines. He was held for court this morning, and the vehicle was impounded.

Around 7:30 p.m., police responded to a single-vehicle accident on Torbay Road in the Town of Torbay. After a short investigation a 19-year-old man was arrested and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, impaired over 80 mg, and a breach of probation. He was released to appear in court at a later date and the motor vehicle was impounded.

At 10 p.m. the RNC pulled over a vehicle in the center City area. A 27-year-old woman was issued summary offence tickets for operating a motor vehicle without insurance, valid driver’s license, failure to transfer ownership and expired registration. The vehicle was impounded.

At 10:30 p.m. a traffic stop in the downtown area of St. John’s resulted in a 56-year-old man being issued a summary offence ticket for driving with a suspended drivers’ licence. The vehicle was impounded.
