Liberal MHAs sit awaiting Premier Dwight Ball at a news conference Monday in St. John's at which Ball announced a shuffle of his cabinet.

Replacing Bennett was pretty straightforward: Ball tapped Speaker Tom Osborne to fill the role.

But a whack of other cabinet ministers changed their portfolios Monday as well, with Gerry Byrne moving to Fisheries, Sherry Gambin-Walsh moving to Service NL, Steve Crocker to Transportation and Works,  Lisa Dempster being brought into cabinet as Children Seniors and Social Development minister, and Al Hawkins moving to Advanced Education and Skills.

Lake Melville MHA Perry Trimper was dropped from cabinet but Ball said he believes Trimper will make a “fantastic” Speaker of the house of assembly
