The RCMP and local fire department responded to a fire at Fillatre’s Funeral Home on Aspen Drive in Happy Valley-Goose Bay on Sept. 21.

According to a RCMP release, the fire occurred in the kitchen of the residential portion of the building.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze. The lone occupant escaped the fire without injury.

An investigation into the cause of the fire determined it was accidental.
