Firefighters called to Mount Pearl ATV fire during storm

Multiple collisions also kept police, firefighters busy

St. John’s Regional fire department personnel were busy all Saturday afternoon and evening with storm related calls including an ATV fire in Mount Pearl. Firefighters were called to Luther Place where a four-wheel ATV was burning in someone’s back yard. Firefighters made quick work of the blaze but not before the ATV was reduced to rubble. It was one of dozens of incidents that the department, and the RNC, responded to in tricky weather conditions. There were reports of collisions all over the metro area including a multi-vehicle incident on Paradise Road. That collision involved several vehicles that slid down the steep hill towards Topsail Road. A trio of Royal Newfoundland Constabulary officers also got a workout in Mount Pearl as they pushed two separate vehicles out of snow banks at the intersection of Brookfield Road and Commonwealth Avenue. No serious injuries were reported in any of the collisions Saturday.
