Firefighters and police were called to a suspicious fire on Carrick Drive early Saturday morning when someone apparently tried to set fire to a home. When firefighters arrived on scene at about 3:30 a.m., they found the side of the house on fire with the siding burnt from the front corner to a side window well. They quickly extinguished the flames but not before the side of the home had been damaged by the fire. An RNC K-9 team arrived quickly on scene with the officer and dog beginning a search of the neighbourhood for possible culprits. A forensic identification officer also took photos of the window well and the damaged house. There were people at home at the time of the incident but there were no injuries.
