What appeared to have been a deliberately set fire was quickly handled by firefighters late Sunday night.
Reports from the area indicate a possible incendiary device was thrown at the front door of 36 Field Street, damaging the door and starting a fire in the front porch.
That has not been confirmed by officials.
The incident happened at about 11:30 p.m. and left the porch area blackened by the fire.
