Happy Valley-Goose Bay, N.L. — Two people who ended up in the water in Terrington Basin after a float plane crash were rescued by a shrimp fishing boat in the area.
The plane crashed just before 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Happy Valley-Goose Bay RCMP, along with the Happy Valley-Goose Bay Ground Search and Rescue, fire department and EHS, responded to the report that a float plane had crashed while attempting to land and was upside down in the water.

The plane was identified as a Dehaviland Beaver.

The rescued occupants were transported to hospital, treated for minor injuries and subsequently released.

The RCMP and the Canadian Transportation and Safety Board are currently investigating the cause of the crash.
