MOUNT PEARL, N.L. — A property in Mount Pearl was the target, Friday morning, of a second firebombing in three days – and once again a quick-thinking neighbour was quick to put out the flames.

Firefighters were called to the scene on Laumann Place at about 12:15 a.m. to a report of a structure fire. When they arrived, they found a charred vehicle in the driveway of the home that had already been damaged by an incendiary device three days earlier, almost to the hour.

Reports from the scene Friday morning indicate another incendiary device was used to set the car ablaze. When the neighbour — a different one from the first incident — heard the explosion, he ran out and extinguished the fire with a garden hose.

Several RNC vehicles were on scene and officers are investigating the incident.

The vehicle was extensively damaged, but there were no injuries.
