Friday deadline to submit Grants to Youth Organizations applications

The Canadian Cancer Society and Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation will light the Confederation Building yellow in recognition of Cancer Awareness Month. On Monday at 7 p.m. at the East Block main lobby, there will be a ceremony in honour or in memory of someone you love.

ST. JOHN’S, N.L. – Up to $50,000 in project funding is available through the provincial government’s 2018 Grants to Youth Organization program.

The grants help community-based youth or youth serving organizations in Newfoundland and Labrador lead projects.

The undertakings must engage youth in activities that encourage skill, knowledge and leadership development; improve partnerships and collaboration; and fill a gap in services.

The program has total funding of $451,500.

The application deadline is Friday, Aug. 17.
