Grand Falls-Windsor drug bust nets cocaine worth $840K on the street: RCMP

GRAND FALLS-WINDSOR, N.L. — A Royal Canadian Mounted Police investigation into drug trafficking culminated in the seizure of 3.5 kilograms cocaine from a Grand Falls-Windsor home this week.

Police say in its current form, the drug has an estimated value of $245,000, but once prepared for street-level sales, the cocaine could be valued at about $840,000. 

The search warrant executed on Tuesday, Feb. 16 also uncovered a quantity of crack cocaine, a large amount of cash, a money counter, a firearm and ammunition and a vehicle.

Police arrested two individuals, one of whom was identified as Martine Racine of Grand Falls-Windsor. He was released on bail to appear in court on April 14 when he'll face charges for trafficking, possession, possession of a gun and unsafely storing it.

The investigation is continuing and further charges are expected against the other accused.
