Health Minister Dr. John Haggie is taking some time to recover after undergoing a medical procedure late last week.
In a statement, the Department of Health and Community Services says Haggie will be recovering for the rest of the week.
“Minister Haggie underwent a medical procedure (Thursday), and he is doing well and in good spirits,” read the statement.
“He will be recovering at home for the next week. He asks that his privacy be respected at this time, and thanks everyone for their well wishes.”
It’s unlikely Haggie will participate in this week’s COVID-19 briefing, set for Wednesday
Haggie was the only member of Premier Andrew Furey’s new cabinet to retain his full previous portfolio, staying at Health and Community Services.
