The Town of Howley is planning to commence the final push toward rectifying its water woes today.

According to an update on the town’s Facebook page Monday, the water restoration plan is set to commence at 8 a.m. this morning.

The plan will involve a dive team and support team making repairs to the system, which malfunctioned more than a week ago.

Despite some setbacks, the town managed to restore water last Thursday, but a more permanent fix is still required.

With plenty of water in its municipal reservoir Monday, town officials were urging all residents to shower, do laundry and fill bathtubs and containers Monday in advance of the expected interruptions that could happen when work begins today.

The town is urging residents to be conservative with water use once the repair work starts.

If all goes to plan, the town expects the work will be done in one day.
