One person has been reported injured in a workplace accident at the Avalon Mall Tuesday.
Emergency workers were called to the site — one of multiple construction sites currently active in the area of the mall — shortly after noon.
Responders gathered at an entrance to the main building, just off of Thorburn Road.
Police could not speak to the injury or injuries sustained by an individual who was taken from the site to the Health Sciences Centre, but follow-up investigation is ongoing by the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary and provincial Occupational Health and Safety.
Service NL said two stop-work orders specific to activities at the work site have been issued.
