Labrador MP Yvonne Jones, MP for Labrador is being appointed to the position of parliamentary secretary to Intergovernmental and Northern Affairs and Internal Trade Minister Dominic LeBlanc.

Jones is the former parliamentary secretary to the minister of Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs.

“I am very proud of the confidence the Prime Minister (Justin Trudeau) has placed in me to serve Canadians in this position. I am also delighted to work ‎with Minister Dominic LeBlanc on the important issues that impact provinces and territories in our country,” Jones said in a news release.

She said she is proud of her Inuit ancestry and will continue to advocate to advance Northern and Indigenous people and communities across Canada’s North.
