The dates for a pre-trial conference in a murder case in Hopedale have been set.

Daniel Onalik, 19, was charged last week in the death of a 44-year-old man in the small Labrador community of just under 600 people.

The case was in court in Wabush on Tuesday and had the matter set over for a preliminary inquiry from Feb. 15-19, 2021. The case is also scheduled to return to that court on Dec. 15 of this year for a status report.

Onalik was originally charged with aggravated assault in the matter, but the charges were upgraded when the man died from his injuries in July.
