A large portion of the Curling area of Corner Brook will be without water for much of Tuesday.

According to the City of Corner Brook, the water outage in the eastern portion of Curling is set to start at 9 a.m. and expected to last between six to eight hours. It is needed to make repairs to the water distribution system.

The areas to be affected are No. 108 A to 349 Curling Street, along with Petley Street, St. Aiden’s Road, Sheppard’s Avenue, O’Rourke’s Avenue, Byrne’s Avenue, Leggo’s Avenue, Water Street, Parson’s Avenue, No. 5 to 22 Woodbine Avenue, No. 5 Star Street, O’Brien’s Lane and No. 16 Barrett’s Road.

In conjunction with the repairs, Curling Street will be closed to through traffic from the intersection of Conway Road to the intersection of Barrett’s Road. The general motoring public is advised to use alternate routes.

Residents can call the City of Corner Brook’s Water Information Line at 634-7711 or visit the City’s official website, www.cornerbrook.com, at any time to view current boil water advisories, water outages and road closures.
