Update: Marystown man to appear in court; RCMP still investigating

Police arrested two men after items believed to be stolen were seized from a home in Marystown on Tuesday, Sept. 18.

A 39-year-old Marystown man was arrested and later released on a promise to appear in court at a later date. There were no charges laid against the second man.

Police could be seen entering an apartment located on the corner of Ville Marie Drive and Forest Road on Tuesday.

Police could be seen entering an apartment located on the corner of Ville Marie Drive and Forest Road in Marystown on Tuesday, Sept. 18.

The Southern Gazette received a tip at approximately 2:30 p.m. from someone in the area that a number of police vehicles were at the scene. Police were still on the scene when The Southern Gazette arrived.

A spokesperson from media relations with the RCMP’s B Division confirmed that police responded to a home in the area and that further details as to the nature of the response would be available on Wednesday, Sept. 19.
