A single-vehicle collision left an SUV with significant damage and tore a light pole from the ground on Columbus Drive just after 1:30 a.m. Wednesday morning.
It appears the northbound vehicle crossed the median, struck and toppled the pole and then came to a stop in the southbound lane.
The bent light pole was also left lying across one of the lanes.
The lone male driver of the vehicle did not appear to be seriously injured but he was checked on scene by Eastern Health paramedics.
The RNC is investigating the incident.
