The service for the father, businessman and founder of the Penney Group is scheduled for 2 p.m. NLT and is being held at the Salvation Army Citadel on Adams Avenue, St. John’s.

Penney’s funeral follows a period of rest at Carnell’s Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place. Flowers are being respectfully declined, but the family is encouraging donations in lieu to be made to the Salvation Army, Downtown Ministries, Canadian Red Cross, and the Canadian Mental Health Association Newfoundland and Labrador.
