ST. JOHN'S, N.L. — The city has a long list of streets set to get some TLC beginning around the end of May.
A total of 45 streets will have portions or all of the road repaved, and another seven streets are next in line if there is sufficient time and funding remaining once the first 45 are done.
A few streets included on the list are Blackmarsh Road from the new roundabout to Canada Drive, sections of Columbus Drive, Higgins Line from Ridge Road to Dublin Road, Kenmount Road from Team Gushue Highway to Kelsey Drive, parts of Thorburn Road and Torbay Road, and many residential streets.
“Those streets have gotten to a point where they need a full new layer of pavement over the entire area that’s noted,” said St. John’s Coun. Ian Froude.
Another 92 streets will have specific small areas patched up, including busy streets such as Allandale Road, Elizabeth Avenue, Hamilton Avenue, LeMarchant Road, MacDonald Drive, Newfoundland Drive, Torbay Road, Topsail Road and Ropewalk Lane.
