Man arrested after allegedly threatening people with a knife in St. John's

A man who is is set to appear in court in St. John’s today after allegedly threatening several people with a knife Monday evening.

The incident happened on the parking lot of a Harvey Road business, where the 33-year-old is said to have caused damage to a vehicle in addition to making the threats with the knife.

Responding Royal Newfoundland and Labrador Constabulary officers placed him in custody at the scene, although that didn’t appear to have happened peacefully as among the charges he’s facing is assault of a police officer.

Other charges are assault with a weapon, mischief, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public and breaches of a court order. 

He was held at the lockup to appear for court this morning.
