Man arrested in connection with two armed robberies at same Conception Bay South pharmacy

A man wanted in connection with an armed robbery from the Lawton’s Drugs location in Conception Bay South was arrested by police yesterday. 

Following an investigation by the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary and a number of tips, 31-year-old Robert King was picked up at a home in the east of the city.

An armed King is alleged to entered the pharmacy around 4 p.m. on Oct. 10. demanding prescription drugs. Before police arrived, he fled the area with opioids, fentanyl patches and other prescription narcotics.

King was also charged in connection with a second armed robbery at the same location that occurred on Nov. 20 at around the same time of day.

He was set to appear in provincial court today.
