St. John’s, N.L. — The RNC arrested a 36-year-old man inside a downtown business shortly after 5 p.m. Wednesday after they were called to a disturbance.

Police responded to a call that a man was causing damage inside a business on Duckworth Street and was assaulting one of the staff.

The suspect was charged with break and entry, assault with a weapon, assault, causing a disturbance and breach of court orders.

The RNC determined at the time of the arrest that the accused was being sought for other offences and was additionally charged with theft under $5,000 and breach of court orders.

He will be appearing in court this morning.

The victims in the assault were not known to the accused and did not require medical attention.
