CORNER BROOK, N.L. — For the second day in a row, Randy Biggin has been committed to stand trial in the Supreme Court of Newfoundland and Labrador.

The 25-year-old, who is not represented by a lawyer, had two preliminary inquiries scheduled for provincial court in Corner Brook this past week.

Tuesday, he was committed to stand trial in Supreme Court on three charges stemming from the armed robbery of the former Ultramar gas station on Mount Bernard Avenue in Corner Brook. That offence is alleged to have happened in broad daylight last April 28.

According to police, the gas station was held up at knifepoint and the perpetrator got away with cash.

Biggin was arrested a short time later.

Subsequent to that arrest, Biggin was charged with having broken into Targett Trucking in Massey Drive and stealing gas about two weeks prior to the alleged robbery.

A preliminary inquiry into that matter was held Wednesday morning and he was again committed to stand trial in the Supreme Court.

Biggin will be arraigned on all charges in the Supreme Court later this year.
